The fivefold Maranatha

Praying Maranatha: Come, O Lord. 1Cor16:22, Rev22:7, 12

Hymn-

O, weary heart there is a home

1. O weary heart, there is a home,
Beyond the reach of toil and care;
A home where changes never come:
Who would not fain be resting there?
Chorus
Oh wait, meekly wait, and murmur not!
Oh wait, meekly wait, and murmur not!
Oh wait, oh wait, oh wait, oh wait and murmur not!

2. Yet when bowed down beneath the load
By heaven allowed, thine earthly lot;
Look up! thou'lt reach that blest abode;
Wait, meekly wait, and murmur not!
Chorus

3. If in thy path some thorns are found,
Oh, think who bore them on His brow;
If grief thy sorrowing heart has found,
It reached a holier than thou.
Chorus

4. Toil on! Nor deem, though sore it be,
One sigh unheard, one prayer forgot;
The day of rest will dawn for thee:
Wait, meekly wait, and murmur not!
Chorus

Maranatha as we know means “the Lord is coming” or “come, O Lord.” and that it was a very common phrase used by the church due to the situation that face them, it was actually used instead of the usual “Shalom” as a word of hope, reaffirmation and assurance.

Lazarus the man He loved. John 11:1-17

1 Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. 2 (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.) 3 Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. 6 When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.7 Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again. 8 His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again? 9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. 10 But if man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him. 11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. 12 Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of
rest in sleep.14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. 15And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.16 Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him. 17 Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.

Prayer points

2 Cor 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which
are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

  • Lord grant me grace to wait on you no matter what circumstance, difficulty is facing my life.
  • Teach me Lord to send the state of my life, my children, home, nation to you and not the counsellors of this world.
  • Help me to know that delay is not denial.
  • Teach me to wait till you who will come, comes.
  • Help me to allow you to make my life an edification for others, for why should Calvary be a waste over my life.
  • Thou whom thou lovest (Who or what could that be for you).
  • Lord keep me near your cross, for it is from that position comfort comes from.
  • Let my life difficulty send me nack to your CROSS as you did with men and women of old.
  • Lord grant me resilience, until Maranatha happens for me my household, my church, my nation and my generation.
